I have a thing for colours (& colourful walls)

Spring has sprung everyone! At least it did in London, I hope it’s the same wherever you are.

Ah, Spring! Days get longer and warmer, nature gets its colours back (fashion too) and I get out of my hibernation. Yes, I relive!

Coming from Cabo Verde, an African country, it’s no secret that I LOVE spring. And what I love above all is wearing colourful spring/summer clothes. I like to explore bright colours, mixing prints and textures. And I have to say, being in London this year will allow me to explore even more.

London is not Paris, but it’s also a fashion capital. Compared to Paris, I feel that here people express their creativity more. I feel that the British culture gives them room to really be themselves. In fact, you can go out with yellow or blue hair, punk or hippie outfit, no one will care or stare at you in the streets!

This spring and summer, I’m determined to be myself too!

I will start by wearing more headwraps, because I simply love them. The one you see in the picture below, I made it myself. I ran into the wax fabric in a Brixton shop and instantly fell in love with it. Headwraps can be seen as intimidating (too bright, too flashy, too much prints), but I think they are one of those accessories to instantly enhance an outfit!

Then there’s this Zara pleated skirt. OMG, the pastel colours had me from the moment I saw the skirt (you can feel the love in these pics right). This is my favourite skirt right now, easy to wear and match with any other item.

Yep, I live for colours and I can’t wait to let my creativity break free in this sunny London spring.
